Fear is a shifty eyed thief
hiding in the cracks
between my curtains.
A handful of whispers,
the snigger in a nightmare.
But turn on the light
and watch it dribble
guiltily into the corners
like spilt coffee.
Hi, my name is Alys Jackson and I'm an author and poet
based in Adelaide, South Australia.

Fear is a shifty eyed thief
hiding in the cracks
between my curtains.
A handful of whispers,
the snigger in a nightmare.
But turn on the light
and watch it dribble
guiltily into the corners
like spilt coffee.
Dear Alys,
I like this poem and it is a bit creepy. I liked how you add what fear is with lots of information and it is good rhyme.
Good job
Ranulaka
Thank you, Ranulaka. Definitely a creepy poem! I found it a lot of fun to write. Fear is an odd emotion. We need it to make sure we are safe and behave sensibly. But no-one likes to feel afraid. Alys
