Spider Moon

What if the moon’s a spider?

And craters, spiders’ eyes.

High celestial predator

Of terrifying size.

Ballooned into the heavens,

Captured by the view.

The Milky Way her silken lair;

The stars her drops of dew.

Sat upon a massive web

In a lonely endless wait.

Hopeless task among the stars:

To find a spider’s mate.

    • That’s great to hear, Nuwin! Our imaginations help us to picture so many things. It’s fun to turn those thoughts into images or poems. Alys.

  1. Dear Alys,
    This poem kind of freaks me out 🤔👀🤔 Other than that, I really liked the way you took some of the stuff spiders and placed them on something in the galaxy.
    P.S When I first saw the title, I thought it said spider man.

    Kind regards Tirath.

    • Yes, it would be rather scary to think the moon might be a spider. When I was little, my parents always told me to look for the ‘man in the moon’ then I read that it was actually a ‘rabbit’. I can definitely see rabbit ears when I look at the full moon. Can you? Of course, we all know the moon is actually made of cheese!! 🐇🐇🐰🐰
