  1. Dear Alys,
I really liked this poem and I also though that the rhyming in this poem was very creative. This poem reminded me of the time that A dragon fly hit me on the head (ouch) 🤕🤕🤕. No seriously, I was walking and talking with my friends and then all of a sudden a dragon fly just hit me on the head. I didn’t see the dragon fly after that but I am pretty sure it flew away.

    Kind regards
    Tirath

    • Hi Tirath! Goodness me, I didn’t know that dragonflies could be so clumsy. Fancy bumping into your head. And, they can be quite large, too. No wonder you said ‘ouch’. I’m glad you liked the poem and that it brought back so many memories 😀😀😀 Alys

  2. Dear Alys,

I liked how you added some brilliant words to make the poem really good And I like how you made it short and descriptive.

    • Thank you, Ranulaka. I like watching dragonflies – they are very pretty insects. Coming up with descriptive words was tricky so I’m glad you enjoyed it. Alys

  3. Hi Alys,
I really enjoy that poem. The best thing about was how you described the dragonfly.
Why do you think describing nouns is so important in writing ? Love the poem !!!!!!
    Thinara

    • Thanks Thinara. I do think that nouns are incredibly important. I once read a great piece of advice that explains poetry as ‘using the best words in the best position’ It’s so true. Choosing the best word for the poem can be difficult but it’s so important. It’s easy to choose words that rhyme but often people choose the first or easiest rhyming word. I prefer to make life difficult 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I try to find the most beautiful word. If that makes sense. Alys
